The Information Technology Centre is responsible for all the information & communication technology ( ICT ) facilities and services that are available in the University. The facilities were developed to assist the users, management and administration of UTHM and to accommodate the needs of users including students, staff and the community.

NETWORK
To ensure that students can communicate globally and be associated with the borderless world, UTHM has linked all the campus buildings or areas with extensive networks that cover the campus areas and student hostels.
WIFI
Our wifi service for staff and students covers all areas which are crowded and places where students and the university’s community gather.
SHARED COMPUTER ROOMS
The shared computer rooms are allocated on campus and a few at student hostels. These facilities operate during office hours from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm :
- computers.
- wireless access.
- plug-in electric, sockets.
- air conditioner.
- and CCTV for the security surveillance purpose.
All users are also encouraged to bring their own notebooks to ensure they can use the Bring Your Own Device ( BYOD ) facilities in the shared computer rooms, while some do operate 24 hours.
EMAIL
All students and staff are provided with official university email addresses. Official announcements will be channeled through this email addresses, and students and staff are advised to review them regularly.
ICT HELPDESK / IT SUPPORT
• A channel for ICT services or complaints.
• Provides consultations for students and staff regarding installations, repairs and maintenance of ICT equipment such as computers , laptops and printers.
• Offers software installations over the counter such as Word and Excel.
Office hours ( 8:00 am - 5:00 pm ) from Sunday to Wednesday.
STUDENT HOSTELS
All student hostels are equipped with :
- access to wifi.
- shared computer rooms.
- and CCTVs for the security surveillance purposes.
